RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides expert level consulting, coordinates, and controls all software updates to SAN environment.
  • Leads the Engineering team in enhancing or changing SAN automated deployment process.
  • Responds to system outages or critical events in a timely manner with a sense of urgency.
  • Directs and mentors Systems Engineers on the technical aspects of security best practices and procedures throughout the infrastructure, platform, and networks.
  • Configures, customizes manages and analyzes all alerting, monitoring, and logging systems.
  • Designs and conducts load tests and upgrades on critical servers and adjust as needed.
  • Designs and coordinates DNS services for all network connected assets.
  • Ensures that infrastructure costs remain within budget and implement cost savings where appropriate.
  • Leads and coordinates Systems Engineers through SAN deployments, technical escalations, procedures, and technical tasks.
  • Research, designs, and documents road maps for upgrades and adoption of new network technologies.
  • Maintains security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
  • Monitors and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, advises, and mentors the team to implement those fixes.
  • Creates and updates network diagrams and device configurations.
  • Assists with project planning and implementation for all technical projects conducted in Operations.
  • Assists IT staff with broad range of complex computer application problems, server issues, virtualization, and SAN issues, networking issues, security issues and critical problem resolution.
  • Provides technical review of documents standard operating procedures and protocols.
  • Manages Microsoft Windows Servers and VM Environments.
  • Maintains Active Directory and GPO account management.
  • Conducts capacity analysis and ensures optimal performance of network infrastructure.
  • Mentors Systems Engineers and provide cross-training to ensure there are no single points of failure.
  • Fabric maintenance, including array and fiber switch administration – preferably with Dell EMC and Cisco Fabric switches and experience in monitoring and providing systems usage statistics for use in overall capacity planning.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience: 

15 years of IT experience providing Tier 1, 2 and 3 level support that includes:
  • 7 years of IT experience with Storage Array Network (SAN) solutions including Dell EMC or equivalent, with multi-tiered storage systems including SAN and NAS arrays, experience in SAN
  • 5 years of experience in the enterprise-level computing platforms involving virtualization, distribution, and high availability, involving VMware.
  • 7 years of experience in maintaining an enterprise-level backup environments – preferably with Microsoft DPM and/or Commvault backup solution. Additionally, to include 7 years of experience focusing on Storage and Backup & Recovery for Disaster Recovery capabilities as well as general restore abilities, and experience in creating backup jobs, maintain backups and data restore. -  5years of experience in Microsoft Active Directory, CIFS, Permissions and experience in managing Microsoft server (Windows 2008, 2012).

Education: Associate degree or higher (Desired)

Clearance: Must possess a minimum Public Trust level security clearance 

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

Certifications: 

  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert or Specialized Certification in VMWare and MCSA   (Required).
